How do you think I got the beetle so cheap. I essentially bought the trade and he paid the dealership to run the transaction through the them. He gets the taxes he paid on the car he traded applied to the new car, I get to buy the car at trade value plus taxes and the dealership got an agreed upon payment for handling the transaction while selling their repeat customer a GT3. That's a reasonable deal for everyone involved.
I had never even considered that taxes could be a factor (or could be reduced) like that. I found a TN sales tax calculator online. For vehicles, it’s 7%. Sales tax on the whole thing will be $15k. Sales tax on the remainder after what I would (assuming) get for trade would be $10,500. So I’ll pay an additional $4.5k in taxes. But the average fair private selling price is about $5-6k more than the average expected trade-in value. So at the end of the day, it is almost a wash. I might come out $1-2k better by selling it, depending on exactly what they gave me for trading it in.
That's where I usually wind up (well, percentage wise, not total dollars). It's worth a few hundred bucks to not mess with it.
Eh, if it's an easy sale and Broome makes a couple grand towards the mud tires I'm sure he'd go for it.
Nah it’s a done deal. At this point it wouldn’t matter if I did the math and came up in the negative by selling it. I have already given my word.
Oh so he is buying the Jag? Nice. So BC are you going to get it steam cleaned to get the GG cooties out of it?
Would you be willing to buy a boat? Just askin' for a brother that's been lookin' at a few lately and, yes, each one is bad-ass.
The wife keeps saying we need a boat. But we don’t live on a lake. I told her let’s see where we end up in Houston and we will go from there. A lot of those Masterplant communities have lakes.
The black hides those horrible plastic fender lips better. Still don't get the whole racing/sportscar companies making SUV's. Just seems wrong. Like if Jeep started making supercars to compete with McLaren.
Hand her $500 dollars and tell her to find the closest pond to the house, light the money on fire and then throw it in the pond. She now owns a boat.
See the problem is he won't just want a boat. If he gets a boat, he will want it to have more HP that the TGT even if the lake is only 1 mile long and has a max speed allowed of 20 mph.
What he'll want most is 1. The battery to not be dead. 2. The fuel to not be shit. 3. Any of the electronics or pumps to work when turned on. 4. Someone that will work on that shit every fifteen minutes to keep it working. 5. A positive outcome when he Broomes someone off the lake.
