College kids and younger completely reject Fakebook. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out snap chat / Instagram /Tik Tok. Which seems to be where the youth are hanging out nowadays. Soon Orange Man T platform coming down the pike. With their behavior the past couple of years, so many soured on the platform. Let's not forget all the lawsuits that still need to litigated ---- or dismissed.
A trailing-edge hip term, how appropriate... "That's so Meta", "Metaverse", etc. Of course, "alphabet" isn't exactly rocket-science either. I'm assuming it is vaguely related to their efforts to create a virtual reality world. Or they just threw billions at that project to justify the name change... They certainly have the dough. I was hoping for a change to "The Facebooks"...
Oh man, guess I stepped into that. But as a parent, you gotta know what your kids are up to. I forgot how quick you guys are...
It's not going to happen over night but it will be displaced by something else. It's already happening. It's already lost its target audience. It's now the place that parents hang out now that there kids have abandoned it due to their parents being on it. When the eye balls fall off so does the advertising money and that's what Facebook lives on. It is now running on borrowed time. They know it that's why they are pushing to rebrand and attempt to garner a younger crowd again. It's not likely to work.
