It is now called artistic swimming, but certainly agree that a different analogy would have been better.
^^^^^SO MUCH THIS^^^^^ I'm glad this happened. Small price to pay to wake up all the Rs that we HAVE TO get to the polls!
It’s a shame we just don’t turn out in the same numbers for non presidential election years. On both sides.
While I always feel it is important to vote and did, I understand why some people don't in my district for elections like this. The winners were already decided in the Democratic primary earlier this year. State House and City Clerk were unopposed and State Senator went 66% to 34% and that is closer than I expected, but still went against the Republican almost 2 to 1.
Kentucky had a turnout of about 40%. Last time around when the dickhead that just got ousted was voted in it was about 30%. Unfucking believable that so many people can't be bothered to go out and vote. It's not like half the state has anything better to do than watch tv and smoke cigarettes.
I think both sides really just plain depend on this. If the "R" side turns out in force they'll win. If the "D" side turns out in force they'll win. It's both a testament and negative to how awesome this country is. Things are going so well that we don't really care who is in charge. The left is insanely dependent on outrage and the right is dependent on who can take a few hours off from their job to be bothered to go vote.
I honestly have never considered VA to be anything more than a liberal DC suburb so it's not remotely surprising they're Dems. Way too many people need all the government programs to keep going so they can stay employed and that'll carry over to how they vote at the state level.
It used to be offset a bit by the rural areas, but that seems to have slipped. Looking at the county maps from the 2016 election shows solid red except for the D.C. suburbs and a blotch around Richmond. Maybe when Trump is on the ballot the turnout will be stronger.
How the heck would he be "accepting" 50,000 'climate migrants' if everyone is allowed in no matter what?
That’s a big “IF”. Utilizing campaign communications channels to reach someone to arrange an engagement does not make a speech a campaign event.
