It doesn't sound like the breadth of the scandal has changed...but it could once a few more execs are in custody if there is something that hasn't yet come to light.
I can't believe these motherfuckers fixed 98% of the 2.0 diesels and are now giving up on the 2012-2014 Passats with a manual transmission. Fucking pieces of shit...........oh well, guess it's time to take the payoff and go new car shopping. Motherfucking motherfuckers. https://www.vwcourtsettlement.com/w...otice_of_Withdrawal_of_AEM_2_0L_Gen__2_MT.pdf
Cars are strictly utilitarian vehicles to me - I have streetbikes for enjoying myself. Looking at a CX-9, although the 350 hitch capacity is borderline to carry my wr250 with a moto carrier. Maybe I'll get a truck............but loading/unloading bikes into a truck by yourself fucking sucks.
I've got a moto-tote. That weighs ~70 pounds and my WR is ~275ish, so right at the limit of what the CX-9's hitch can handle. If VW weren't such cock gobblers, I was going to have a class III hitch installed on my Passat (currently has a class I) to carry my WR. http://www.mototote.com/mototote-mtx-sport-motorcycle-carrier.html
Sorry they don't have a fix for your 2.0. Just take the money and get a used Touareg TDI. It will handle up to 660 or 700 lb, depending on which version of the owners manual you get. No I am not joking about that. I am planning on taking my 3.0 TDI Treg in to get the fix after the Holiday craziness dies down. Nice extended warranty, free DEF for a few years, and a total of about $9500 in my pocket. Word is the effects of the 3.0 fix changes are fairly minor, but irritating to some. If I had the option of a buyback I would have taken it and spent the money on a used Cayenne.
Negative on another diesel - my driving patterns have changed enough that a diesel isn't the best vehicle for me.
Unless something about the fix really annoys me, I will leave it alone and not risk having a warranty claim denied.
