Head shots don't ruin any meat either. I've probably shot 10 pigs but only one boar, non-lactating sows taste better. Now that I've gotten into long range shooting I need to head out with my rifle. Without any wind, head shots at 600 yards and under is almost a gimme for the 6.5. Not too many shooting the 6.5 saum yet, but I'm seeing a few guys working on it. Bet there's a few in the PRS matches by the end of the year.
Its almost like cheating Like shooting a 22 on steroids. My uncle put one dead in the ear of a hog at 750yds last weekend as well. It is a badass round
Catching them alive? How? http://theflashtoday.com/2015/01/18/hunters-bag-tie-790-pound-boarzilla-hog/
Traps. They look like a big dog kennel, but have a one way door. you can catch multiple hogs in one shot.
The TX hunt was a flop.. Found a place in west TX and only saw two.. Round 2 is coming up in Alabama March 2017. We have named the event "Pigs, Pilsners, and Parabellums."
Well, there's the White Elephant Saloon on Fort Worth's North side. And plenty of the bars in Dallass' Lower Greenville...
Ironic this popped back up. Just booked my flights for West Texas in November. Going to be a fun weekend!
