If new gun legislation is passed, and we are all required to submit what firearms we own to a Federal database, would you do it?
Gun registry is the first step in confiscation. All these proposed gun laws are a slippery slope to banning all guns. What happens when these laws pass and then comes another Sandy Hook?
sure and while we are spit balling fantasy scenarios... lets do a family genealogy/dna/economic survey of every violent criminal, rapist, child molester, and welfare recipient.
You should have added option ( Some of them ) I would think it smart to list what guns you carry or use as home defense. If you ever have to use it in self defense you dont want an illegal firearm involved. When/if the sh*t hits the fan alll bets are off. Use what you got and hope you got enough!
Don't know about retro-active. That would be a "What's been registered is what I have" kinda thing. On a go forward basis, I don't have a problem with all transfers being through an FFL.
Considering both of my pistols are on my armed guard paperwork those would be listed. The other two, an old 303 British Jungle Carbine is no. They don't need to know about that on. The other is my Savage Arms .17HMR. If they want to know about it then I'll let them.
I lived in California when they required assault rifle registration. The civil disobedience towards the one year registration deadline was so massive they extended it another year. About then I moved to Ga. so I don't know what happened but that level of disobedience is so great I don't think the feds will even try it--not on this one issue--too embarrassing.
