Well last year Charlie V. decided he wanted to go 200mph after Falkner/Livingston let him ride a ZX12 at Bonneville in August 2009. We decided to take a shot at it on the BMW S1000RR since it was such an impressive platform to begin with. KWS Motorsports offered to build the motor for us so we ordered the bike and let them get to work on it. It arrived back at our shop today where Charlie V is going to put a little more work into it before leaving for Bonneville next Thursday. Below are some pics...I'll update his speed numbers on our Facebook page as they are relayed to me next week.

What did you do about the electronic speed restriction on the bike?

The bike is limited to 186 mph with final gearing and not with electronics.

What kind of motor work was done to the bike? Are you guys going to run it with the stock bodywork as is?

I'm no pitbull rep, but I'm pretty sure the class they are running restricts the bike to "looking" stock. George can clear it up.

Russ is right...The bike has to appear stock, including the exhaust. The motor has had some work done...lets just say there are some prototype parts inside this motor. I guess it's hard not to have some "firsts" on a bike that's been out less than a year. Charlie had better hang on at 200...I have a photoshoot scheduled for when he gets back. I don't want any scratches on it:)

We intended on a larger Pit Bull but that one's just going to have to do for now. You won't be able to see it at 200 anyway:)

Hopefully Charlie doesn't test the stuff we sent...

The bike looks sweet and all of us here wish him luck!
