Anyone pretty good at building T64's? I am stumped by the one I am working on at work. It has been to test cell 4 times and is always failing for low power.
And you're asking WERA BBS for a diagnostic?!?! You're a brave man, putting your carrer on the line like that.
Fuel pump? Fuel control? Part power stops? variable stator? Sorry bro. The CF6-80C2 (fadec) is my specialty.
I know a great T-55 guy.....but I don't know how close they are to the 53 motors...I can give you is number if you want. Pm me...
I am at my whits end with this motor. Motor comes in cuz it won't start. Goes to test cell for pre-induct run. Starts easy. Fails miserably for power, something like 300 hp low. Tear it down, change nozzle areas, send it back, fails 40 low. OK good start. Bring it back in, tear it down, again, change nozzle areas, again, send it back out and it fails 250 HP's low. Bring it back in, again, tear it down, again, change out the gas generator and nozzle areas, put it back together, then it fails for 249 HP. I swear I want to kill everyone in the shop and its only Monday. Yes it is a T64-GE-416 Turboshaft Jet Engine. It sucks, squeezes, bangs, and blows with the best of them. So what if it turns a shaft during the process. When people ask what I do I tell the I am a jet engine mechanic, not a torboshaft engine mech.
If only it was a laser or high vacuum question - then I'm your man. Maybe these will help? http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/ http://www.eng-tips.com/
