Sad thing is we'll probably never find out the validity of that story. :(

If it was Casey Stoner you'd be better believe that would have been one of his many reasons why he didn't podium. :p

I have had a similar problem with my HJC (although I am sure Ben gets a completely different closure system). When at high speeds, if I would turn my head to the left, sometimes the wind would grab the tab on the visor and blow it open. I actually scared the crap out of me a few times.

I thought I saw him take a swipe at his visor a couple of times. I was wonderign what he was doing.

Yeah same here. I thought he was removing a tear off but didn't see one come off.

Also, I'm sure that because of his $500,000 euro helmet contract with HJC Spies isn't going to start talking about equipment malfunctions.

I'm sure some duct tape would fix the issue.

Funny this issue happens at Laguna - it's not the fastest track he's raced. He didn't have a visor issue in WSBK, did he? Hopefully it was just a one off issue.

hats off to the kid for not making excuses.....and to still take 6th shows the kind of rider he is.

He also had a major issue with the helmet on his wildcard race at Indy. Cost him some places there as well.

Ben, ditch the POS helmets dude.

:stupid: The endorsements for the helmet is no good if he pisses away podiums fighting crappy workmanship and risk crashing or finishing 6th instead of top 3, just saying.

His old helmet and the new one have different locking mechanisms.

The new R-PHA 10 has a litle clip in the front there by the vent

The old FS-15 has a locking tab all the way on the side/back of the shield just past the tear-off post.
