OK WERA Forum I know there are people out there that know the answer to this.

This is a photo from the 1984 GNF. One of the all-time classic battles between Kevin Schwantz (43) and Ed Key (1). Can anyone tell me who No. 12and No. 734 are in this photo.

I don't know who they are so I hope we can build a consensus.

#12 is Ed Youngblood and #734 is Rob Dingman; they had a well-documented rivalry going at the time, and that rivalry carries on to this day.

Well, I was thinking Youngblood may have raced but didn't think Dingman did but 84 was before me and stranger things have kind of popped up out of the woodwork.

    Sean,

Does WERA keep records of competition numbers from years past?

I have thousands of old negatives that I'd like to go through scan and ID someday.

    Thanks

724 here, Larry! :D What years are you looking at? We are talking THOUSANDS of negatives, I'm sure. I think you just found another job. (How do you get paid?) LOL!

We do - but it's all paper and not easy to track down. It'd take a long time to dig through it all.

Oh man.......don't even mention old negatives. I have way too many to sort through. One of my retirement projects???

    Sean,

Sometime I'll have to take a vacation down to the office and copy all those old competition number files. I need to start a website with those photos. I attended probably 25-30 WERA races a year from the early 1980s to the early '90s.
