So I’m planning running either Homestead or PBIR in December, since the land borders are opening back up the 8th of November. My question has to do with the gearing of the those tracks for the ZX6R 636 ’13+ Anyone know plz ? Not planning on setting the bike down there and would like to get it ready from here and then fine tune it once I ride the track. I ask cause I am geared quite long for Mosport 16/41 or 42, so I know I’ll have to change the chain... I’m guessing. Merci
R6 gearing: PBIR you can run either 15/43 or 16/43, if you run the 16 tooth front you will need to be rolling pretty good in some corners, and use 1st in a few others. Homestead 15/44 Daytona 16/43
Thnx Gino but I don't know how well the R6 gearing translate to the 636 636 at Daytona was 16/41 for me and Farrel I think mentioned his was 16/40 I'm sure someone will come along and provide the 636 gearing. I still do have time, just not decided on the events... Even am contemplating Barber and Jennings in the mix. If ever you're there, I'll be bringing some Atlantic brews down with me
the riders from the northeast have always used the same gearing that they use at NHMS. i found that odd, as they're usually -1/+4 or -1/+3 i think i did -1/+3 on my 600 and it was fine. for me: stock GSXR: 16/43 PBIR: 15/44 daytona: 16/43 homestead: 15/46
Thnx... but are those from your gixx you posted ? Cause it looks like about the same as the R6 of Gino. I'll get it set with an average of what you guys have for Daytona vs me. I have from 40T-46T, just really need to know which chaine I'll be installing before I leave.
if you set your gearing close, you should be able to change sprockets -/+ 1 with the same chain and not making a major geometry change. DK and Xman were the only 636's i remember seeing there at Homestead last time. i'll reach out via IG and see if i can get what gearing they used.
@KneeDragger_c69 it would also pay to reach out to Miles from Street and Competition, he is our trackside vendor and he will tell you his plan as far as attending those events. He will also have stuff on hand that you may need. Also give Penguin (Eric Wood) a call. As far as I know, they run Kawasakis now and have ridden all these tracks. Helpful guys.
Thnx buddy, really appreciate it. Will definitly need to change my chain I think. Ah good call on Miles. Great guy and so helpful at the track. Will reach out to Penguin. Thnx again Gino. You riding there come December ?
Yes I lined up next to you and gave you the "I'm watching you" sign.... Not the best weekend for me, two blown fork seals and my clutch gave up the ghost. But it was fun! You looked like you were getting along good with the track.....
Ahhhh nah bro. I had brake issues... on my 3rd and 4th race (which were back-2-back) So it was you stairing me down. Man didn't think it was you, didn't seem like your number. Thought it was someone else. Wish you would have stoped by for a beer. Had so many... Gave some to StickyBoy all wknd lolll
