I have a blown rod on 96 zx6e engine. Is there any other engine that will fit in the frame or will I have to stick with the reg 6e engine?
The older style 6D should bolt right in, I think that the only difference was the clutch cover is taller on the 6E. A friend wedged a 6E into a 6D frame and discovered that he had to provide some clearance where the clutch cover meets the frame (upper aft corner). Of course, you wold have less HP, but desperate times and all that jazz.
