What to do about this ? (Scooter)

What can be done to stop this corrosion on the MC caps ? I don't want to replace the assembly's because this scooter has really good braking power and feel.. It just looks awful and I am wondering if the corrosion could eventually break the seal.

 

PJ1 color of choice and about 30 mins of sweat equity. So maybe $15 tops?

 

A little wire wheel work and a few coats of clear.

That cap looks like it was laying at the bottom of Haulover inlet for over a year ... I can’t see a wire wheel or anything fixing that .. buy a new cap .

 

Please remove the cap prior to clean up and coating it. Replace the rubber gasket/boot also. Wouldn’t hurt to flush new fluid through it too. Or, what 1100 said, replace it. Including rubber gasket.

 

Yeah I just contacted AF1...gonna get new caps, screws and seal...freshen up the stop juice...ty again for all the tips.

 

Good move ... I blew up that picture and the lower left corner of that cap appears to be broken/ corroded so bad that it looks like the reservoir is almost open to the elements. That can’t be fixed
