I pulled the bowl off of my carb, and this was laying in the bottom of it. From the searching I did it looks to be a jet holder? Is this needed and what does it do? Thanks

That's the shroud for the main jet. It keeps fuel near the bottom of the bowl when hard braking or heavy accelerating.

Chris13 Which lever is the Brake?

That is the flux capacitor flange. Keeps electrons out of the neutron field.

My XR copy engine doesn't have one on the carb. But not sure about a true XR.

It'll run w/o it but it does serve a purpose of keeping the fuel in the bowl so it can be pulled through.
