El Dorado 15 or Zacapa 23. There's tons of good aged rums out there but you can't go wrong with those two for under $50.

    Tito's.
You're buying it for them to drink not to pass it down to their grandkids as an heirloom.

Is it for a girl under under 30? Apparently Rumchada is the way to go.

Depends on who you are giving to. If it's just your average drinker who is going to mix it with Coke, just go Capitain Morgan Extra Spicy to make some killer Rum & Cokes. If he's a afficionado, but you want to stay at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with Barbancourt.

Every now and then a post comes up that I can actually add some real insight, LOL, Reasonable priced: Ron Zacapa 23 or Pyrat XO reserve if you like a little hint of orange. We used to do rum tasting lunches at the restaurant I worked at in St. Thomas, Old Stone Farmhouse

Some rums have real history and some don't, never tried it so can't knock them, and if anybody on here mentions Captain Morgan I'm going to lose my shit:eek:

I have an old buddy who lives on clear Bacardi, tells me my rum tastes like whiskey. Poor old man has no taste and I tell him as such.
