    Welcome to the family Emma!

I forgot how much work a puppy is.

Fwiw, she is an English Cream Retriever.

We must have bought $100+ of chew toys to minimize the damage to the house.

Biggest problem right now is getting the GSD to welcome her into the pack. At the moment, they cannot be left together because the GSD is a bit of an asshole! lol

Reminds me of my homeboy that turned 9 yesterday.

Note... my gf forced him to wear the hat, not me.

    It's no use.

I've had my little shit-for-brains for over five years. We left her unattended yesterday for the first time in a while, since the missus works from home.

Came back to this. She was trying to get through the door we had gone out of, is all I can figure...

My last boy lived 14 years. I was not prepared to handle a puppy! Extreme cuteness is all that keeps them alive. Fortunately, it passes quickly and then you have a best buddy for many years. My current dog and I have about the same life expectancy. If I ever do find myself in the position of being an old man who lost his dog, I will look for an old dog who lost his man. I think I'm past puppy training.

I have a two year old English Cream. He's a mess.

Good luck with the chewing and the hair!

Just a little update after 7ish weeks.

Emma is growing like crazy, the GSD has accepted her into the pack and everything is good! She eats everything she sees but thankfully had not destroyed the house yet!

I wasn't paying attention to who posted what and thought Emma's dad might need a biology lesson.

I had the pleasure of spending 15 years with a retriever, although he had a tinge of red colouring in him. Gaelic for red is Rua.

That boyo would roam all over the neighborhood.
Neighbors have his footprints in fresh pool concrete patio surrounds/driveways etc.

He'd always return home, unless he was picked up and spent the night with strangers.
Fortunately, they'd call next morning and deliver him home.

    Once, the vet called.
"Did you request to have Rua shaved?"

" Oh shite, you have Rua?"

Somebody picked him up and tried to mask his identity....by shaving him.

Vet knew him well and was chipped/collared.

Growing up in Ireland in the 70's, we'd have horses, cows get calls because they got loose.

It was a common dilemma for anyone with farm animals.

About 8 years ago, I bought a trail camera.
I'm surprised Rua made it to 15, let alone my/our laxidazy approach to owning a god in San Diego.

I see a pack of 3 coyotes and a male bobcat cruise past my back yard, almost erryday in the trail cam.

Rua musta been a special wee dude, always made it home.

Longdong buncha bullshite response, but.... beautiful wee pup ya have.

God made puppies and little children cute so we would put up with them and love them. If they looked like they acted, they’d have glowing red eyes, bile green skin, forked tongues, and long claws. LOL. Says the guy with 5 kids who has also had 5 labradors.
