V5 Frame modification question

First, let me say that I have read the rulebook! But I didn't find what I was looking for...

I'm replacing the swingarm on my V5 Yam FJ600 with a more modern one that will allow me to run a wider rim. This will require a different rear shock that doesn't quite fit properly in the existing top frame mount. Do the rules allow modification of that top frame mount?

    Thank you in advance

lizard84 My “fuck it” list is lengthy

Its my understanding that while you can change your shock mounts or for that matter convert a twin shock to a mono-shock. You cannot run a hybrd say something such as a GS-1000 motor in a later mono-shock frame from another model.

Again, thats my understanding, the powers that be may have another take.

how much tire do you need????
a 4.5x17 will fit in the fz/fj swingarm
    that is a 150-160 tire

    just wonderin......

Never considered trying to fit a larger wheel/tire in my FJ swingarm...the 130/80 X 18 didn't seem to have lots of room left over. The FZR swingarm is a direct bolt-on (except for the top shock mount)
