I'm far enough out of the path I think we're only supposed to see 60% covered. If I' m in the shop working I'll probably forget about it. Think I'll go mow some lawn then when it starts to get dark I'll be " oh yeah ".
We go around 25% here in Cabo. Temp dropped five or so degrees for fifteen minutes, the went back to scorch. -jim
Damn if this isn't like watching paint dry. "Didja see it? It's a quarter now... go look at it." It's like I'm surrounded by the worst sportscasters ever. I'd kill for some Jim Brockmore coverage of this event... "There's a giant black hole in the sky... just like that time I saw my wife's......" At least it would be more entertaining.
Michelle just asked me how the cereal box thing worked, so I told her you make the hole, point it at the sun, then stare at the box - it appears in the milk at the right moment.
I'm sitting inside mollycoddling my 4 year old because all the damn grasshoppers and mosquitos were scaring her. F the eclipse. Just bring on Autumn! I remember the one from 1979. That's enough for me.

That was pretty cool. We got a total. It didn't get midnight dark, more like 8:30 dark, but all the bugs and frogs and stuff started making noise, it cooled way down, and there was a couple minutes that you could look at it without glasses. Welding helmet was a bust. Mine's a cheapy and it wasn't dark enough to block out all of the aura so you couldn't see much detail. Luckily, I'd picked up some eclipse glasses for everyone at work.
