Top fuel dragster hp at idle?

I imagine they do all they can to save parts but it is amazing to me how short of a lifespan some of the rotating assembly has.

 

Fuckinhell. Now I like them even more!

We need about 100 million more of those in use, all day every day.

So you guys are saying even spinning 9500rpm these things are only doing 900 revolutions at power to go over a thousand feet? That's mind blowing.

 

9500 rpm (revs/min) / 60 (secs/min) * 4.5 sec = 713 revolutions (not including burnout/staging)
