I use the Harbor Frieght setup. It does mess up the wheels some so I only use it for my race and dirt bike stuff, not my street bike. I like the look of that Mojo lever, I'll give that some thought. The HF comes with a big long lever that I use like the Mojo lever for dismounting. Then just use some flat tire irons to walk the tire onto the rim. I have this (or very similar, got it from ebay but my cones are hard plastic) balancer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Prec...ategoryZ6755QQihZ005QQitemZ150096407331QQrdZ1 It works very well, definately can go to the 1/8oz but 1/4 is good enough. I also got one of these. http://www.myerstiresupply.com/pls/myers/display_coupon?pass_cou_id=232&cart_id=mtpy3006 Works as your 3 hand as you walk the tire onto the rim. I use Murphy's Oil Soap diluted in a spray bottle for lube. About 20% if using the liquid soap but I have a tub of the gel like stuff. Just a glob of it from your fingers in the spray bottle with water. Never any rim slip problems.
I have the Harbor Freight changer. I welded a pipe on the front of my trailer with a hole in the pipe. Slide the cnanger over the pipe insert a locating pin in the hole. Made a braker bar on the front of trailer also. Antifreeze works slick for lube.
Yeah, if I only had to do one now and then I would just do it on the ground. As long as you have a way to break the bead then its a snap. I bet I could change a tire on the floor of my trailer within a minute of my time on a tire machine. I've done them at the track a few times with no problems..
