Saint-Honoré as an afternoon snack today. My second favorite. It had been a few years. This one is best left to the professionals. I was never good at making that.
So the wife says this is it except she used dark rum and a mix of coconut rum. No pecans either. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/284300/coconut-rum-cake/
Ex-girlfriend you met once at VIR called yesterday to say that she was in town for the week and she wanted to stop by to hang out for a couple of hours. I've been suffering from really bad insomnia for a week. My literal answer was: "Saint-Honoré or rain check." (Been craving one lately, but only wanted from a top-rated fancy bakery, which there is none in my neighborhood) For some reason, she thought it was a little rude. She did bring the damn cake, though.
I don't remember what kind of food. Does the story about a woman I only let drive my Lightning in the paddock ring a bell? (gawdawful driver)
St. Honore is the patron saint of all things fancy French pastry frippery. Hopefully it was made with a Chiboust cream and not the typical US version with straight whipped cream. Like putting Hershey's syrup in an Opera cake. Gahdam savages. A good St. Honore is a truly a gift, cause it's a lot more work than you can typically charge for.
We had been dating for at least a year when that happened. I did it so she would stop asking to drive it on the street.
