I won't make it this year. Passport renewal won't be here until May 25th :/ Greencard renewal took 19 months, passport took almost 3 months :/
Michael Dunlop with a last minute ride as usual for him. He won the Senior TT on a Suzuki That is one proper, PROPER superbike.
And seems Hickman got the last minute swap to Aprilia RS660 race prepped for the SupetTwins class in record time. Think they said less than 36 hours for full build and tune...
Blimey, last time I renewed my Green Card (2015) it only took a couple of months. Do you have a UK or Irish passport? I renewed my UK one online just before Covid hit and it took less than a month.
Irish passport. I sent off paperwork and they returned it due to offices in Dublin being closed due to COVID. My last greencard had expired in 2014.
Really cool atmosphere. The coast is stunningly gorgeous.. I'd forgotten how pretty it is here. Qualified 37th yesterday on the ZX-6, and wasn't yet really trying very hard to go fast - it was mixed conditions so I just concentrated on learning where to go and skipped practicing markers or really pushing it. Feel like I've got another 20 seconds to come off pretty easily, which should put me in the 20-25th range. Dropped the BMW into the mud on my first lap hopped onto it after riding the 600 for an hour and it simply didn't turn as nimbly as I expected... so I ran off in the first chicane, plowed the front wheel into some soft dirt and it fell over at 0mph. missed both the superbike and superstock practices as a result.. no damage, but they wouldn't allow me to ride in and didn't bring the bike back until the end of the day. we fixed the steering to be more nimble (rear ride height was way too low) and i'm looking forward to tomorrow.
I was worried that after 33 months with out "international" Road Racing that the sport may die off. However, based on yesterdays BBC coverage of day one, the racing looks stronger than ever for fan interest and for a competitive field.
Well I was working and missed the livestream. If you want to watch it live be sure to check the link at race time Saturday. You can watch live but you cannot replay once the stream ends. You can replay radio Ulster however. Fkn Jeremy McWilliams! Not bad for an old man. (Spoilers) https://www.bbc.com/sport/av/motorsport/61431075
Damn good race, feel for Davey as there is only so much deficit in speed you can make up. He’s like the Toprak of the NW200 on the brakes though.
I guess it's not supposed to do that because Dunlop tires just pulled all their riders from the race over tire concern
