1:35's for novice at mid Ohio? Jez my fastest is 1:41.6. I checked the my laps for mid Ohio last year and it seemed the experts were running 1:35's looks like I'm going to suck.....
those are "novices" who race a few times a year and never accumulate enough points to require a bump-up letter. I've repeatedly said that the Novice class should be reserved for true novices who would be unsafe or out-classed on an expert grid, but people want to win championships <eyeroll> If you want to WIN a novice race, yeah, you probably need to turn a 1:35, but if you break 1:40, you're definitely not going to be last. 1:41 wouldn't be embarrassing.
