I just heard about this place and being it's only 20min from my house, I think I'm going to have to give it a try!
There is a place similar to that somewhat near me - https://thegrid.com/ It's a three level 1/2 mile track, pretty fun layout. It was pretty dead the first time there, had a pretty lonely race with four other people. They don't have fancy axes or food yet.
I also noticed on their beer menu that like if a 16 ounce draft is $5, a 23 ounce is $10. IF I drank beer, and I decided to have some there, I'd just get two 16 ounce drinks and get 32 ounces for the price of 23. I guess they're counting on a lot of people to come that have graduated from high school within the last 12-15 years that cannot do basic math or something. We'll maybe try the place to see if it's cool, and a as a surprise treat for the kid more than anything. Something fun to do in the dreary Jan-March time of year.
Anybody remember Velocity 17? These indoor kart facilities are always run into the same problem, IMO. Too expensive for the casual crowd, not enough of an experience for the hardcore audience. $29 for 7 minutes of lapping makes TDs look cheap.
It's about 30ish minutes for me...WERA Meetup Waiting for the online rez before I go. I'm too bougie to show-up and wait.
