I just find this stuff interesting. This is just from today but the entire season has pretty much been the same ratio. WSBK race 1 & 2: 7 of the top 10 were Ducati's. The 3 factory bikes of course, and the Sat. bike of Hodgson. The rest customer bikes. Only 1 four stroke in the top 10, Walker. Only 3 fours in the top 15. That's wild. In fact out of the 23 regular bike/teams that usually make up the WSBK grids, 13 are Duc's. and only 4 bikes are 4 strokers! Now, compared to AMA SBK: 1 Ducati in the top 10. and only 2 in the series. The top 10 has 6 fours, while the twins make up only 6 bikes on the regular AMA grid. The rest, are fours! Something like 24 to 27 Suzuki's in AMA While it's the one lone Suzuki of Lavilla in WSBK. So, roughly 55% are twins on the WSBK grid. While roughly 19% are twins on the AMA grid. Hopefully the 1000 cc fours will make more of a presence in 2003.
Another number that has been lacking in the US Superbike series is horsepower for the Yosh Suzuki's!!!! Those guys have been getting there asses handed to them down every straight all year long. What could Yates have done this year with a little HP!
... spun the shit out of his tires, run like a scalded dog for 15 laps then limp back on blistered tires.
Hate to break it to you, but every bike in the Top Ten was a four-stroke. In fact, every bike in that race was a four-stroke. Now, there was only one four-cylinder......
