I would not use our behavior towards another country as a barometer for behavior we should ignore from another country toward us.
No, of course not. Hypocracy is to be celebrated as long as it's a good ol' fashioned flag-waving hoo-ah US of A being hypocrites.
As I was typing that I was thinking about how hypocritcal it was but that's the world we've created. We invade other countries, manipulate political systems, rig economies, secretly support coup de tats, use economic sanctions, dictate nuclear programs, etc... and if anyone tried that with us, we'd flip out. Regardless of whether or not we should be, playing the world's police ultimately puts us in a position to be hypocritcal.
