I have an S6 for my work phone, and we use Google apps for enterprise communications. Sometime shortly after an upgrade about 6 months ago, it stopped automatically update my GMAIL or Google Calendar, despite being set to Autosync. Our IT guys spent 3 months ignoring me, and now say it's an issue between Samsung and Google. Anybody else heard of this? I googled it and don't see anything particularly focused at a recent specific issue with Samsung and Google....
Check the Gmail parameters to see if "send notifications" is still on. My LG G5 did something similar a few months ago.
Thanks for the reply. I (once again) dug through all the settings I can find, and it all appears to be on, in "accounts" and "notifications" settings. I did uninstall the GMAIL updates and run the originally loaded version - that fixed it until the next app auto-update was performed.
