according to amasuperbike, he passed away last night. this situation has been bothering me off and on since it happened. even though it was the other side of the world, and i never would have met him. it bothers me to see a racer go down. god speed.
http://motograndprix.tiscali.com/en...?barra_t=&menu=news_info&news_id=10017&page=1 confirmed by MotoGP.com this sucks big time, RIP Kato
I heard it from Despain on Speed. His newborn isn't a month old. Put this on my list of things that suck. Godspeed Kato
KRjr had it right when he spoke of how Suzuka now sucks:down: When watching the race we were shown the corner workers picking Kato up like a bag of potatos. No concern at all for immobilizing his head or any other part of him. THE MOST BASIC OF LIFE SAVING STANDARDS WERE TOTALLY IGNORED!!!!!!!!!! It was like we were watching gladiators in Rome: get the injured out of the way as quickliy as possible regardless of how much damage is done. Let's not red flag a damn moto gp! I thought the standard of safety was top flight at the GP circus, but I would take any corner working crew anywhere in the states over the shit work I saw done at Suzuka. In fact, I suspect the Suzuka crew contributed to Kato's death. I hope there is a full investigation. Fire 'em up Kenny jr, just like your dad did many years ago. Godspeed, Daijiro Kato! Your passionate style will be much missed by all of us that can only dream of what it must be like to ride so fast.
Let it go man, you missed the part where his heart was stopped and he wasn't breathing when they got to him.
