And fwiw, Mark Merical spent the long hours with Eric’s wife at the hospital. Mark could have been home with his new grandchild. Instead, he put the hard work in as a spiritual advisor for Eric’s loved ones. If you see or know Mark, make sure he knows that we appreciate him.
Mark rocks. One of the worst things when a rider is hurt bad for us is not being able to be there for them or their family and crew members/friends. Evelyne and I were talking about this last night driving home, just knowing that someone like Mark is there for them when we can't be takes an incalculable amount of stress off of us letting us do whatever needs doing at the track better than we would otherwise. Can't really even explain how huge that is.
I didn't know Eric personally, but I personally know what it's like to hear the news. Absolutely gutted for his family and friends.
We did a press release but no point in posting it here. This sucks all the way around. Eric was doing great this weekend having a total blast being on track again and then gone. It's horrible his wife and daughter were there but it's good they were at the same time to get every possible moment with him. We truly feel for them and his other family and all the TVR guys. Tried to type out more to express more but nothing sounds right or helps in any way. Sorry.
Did not know the gentleman but hope he is riding in paradise right now. Payers sent for the family and friends, sorry for your loss.
