The two I have suck. I'd like to replace them with quality, we'll made tools. Suggestions, please.

I use the Klein crimpers that were linked almost every day. They work well and have a lifetime warranty. I don't like their strippers though, they're too big. I use a set of Greenlee strippers I bought from Home Depot. They've lasted 5 years or so now of almost daily use.

One new pair and one ancient slightly rusty pair that still work great.

I much prefer the standalone crimpers too versus the all in one style.

Why wouldn't they work on insulated connectors? That's what I use with them.

The anvil in the upper part of the jaw crushes and displace the insulation

Yeah it can, I see what you mean. I don't have that issue with decent connectors and less force but have done it with old (brittle plastic) or wal mart special (also brittle plastic) connectors.

I much prefer the grip I get with the center being punched in versus a flat crimp so I'll deal with the occasional need to replace the connector if the insulation breaks or just put some heatshrink on it.

The WT-112-M is an option if you are working with insulated connectors, however using non-insulated terminal connectors with shrink wrap is what we have normally done.

Awesome, thanks fellas. Picked up the crimpers Venom recommended (nice family pic, btw) and the Katapults Mongo posted. Now maybe I won't hate wiring as much.

Used these for 25 years (not the same pair ;-) ) and as long as you don't try to cut live shit with them, are the tits!!!! For strippers I'm partial to these http://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tnp...gle-PLA+-+Test&CS_003=7867724&CS_010=88535018
