Reservoir is low, so I’ll be taking care of it this weekend. Question is.....

Does anyone use anything other than DOT? Or is there an aftermarket fluid that is worth trying?

Depends on where you’re riding...on the track I won’t use anything other than Motul RBF 660 synthetic fluid.

In a clutch? Does the slave get that hot? Can't imagine it would be anything near what brakes get.

I am not sure about Honda’s design, but if it’s similar to ktms I would run a mineral oil in case the slave cyclinder seal leaks, if you’re running brake fluid it will enter your engine oil and start to ruin the oil then the motor.
