How maney times does one class run in a event and laps?

Saturday solo races are anywhere from 16 - 20 laps; Sunday sprint races are usually 8 laps per race.

Check the rulebook and you'll see how many races your bike is eligible for each weekend. If for example you're running a 600cc bike, you can run the Middleweight solo race on Saturday and, if your bike is superstock legal, up to four sprint races on Sunday (C & B Superstock and Superbike). If you happen to be over 40 you can also add the Senior Middleweight Superbike race to that.

For your first year you should definitely do races on both days if you can. Saturday Solos offer a good amount of seat time to get dialed in and two additional morning practice sessions - they're well worth it. For Sunday, running at least three sprint races is easily doable, plus you get an additional two morning practice sessions.

This is of course based on what this year's schedule was; if anything changes for 2012 there may be additional tweaks to maximize your bang for the buck.

I addition to what is already offered, take a look at the weekend schedule of events, usually posted on the WERA website about ten or fifteen days before the event. That will give you a rough idea of the pacing of the day, i.e. what races are first, second, etc. You might not want to enter two races that are scheduled back-to-back on your first weekend outing, but later you might be very comfortable with that. The schedule IS always subject to change, as they sometimes split up or combine races due to grid size.

General rule of thumb is to get everything done as early as possible, i.e. if Registration opens at 7 AM, be standing in line at 6:45 AM, don't wait until 8:30 and saunter over to the registration desk.

Good luck out there! Bring some friends.
