Its a dumb law that should be eliminated. There was a good piece on Reason about kidney sales and how it would save a bunch of lives. Oh well, just another case of emotion trumping logic.
Everyone but the donor is allowed to make big bucks from these transplants. What's not fair about that?
The donor didn't do a thing to earn any money since it didn't cost him, or her, to grow the thing. Let the donor eat cake.
The donor can choose or not choose to sell their kidney for 10k dollars or 1 dollar. It's entirely their right.
If it voids any future claims associated with their's kidney with their health insurance company then I don't know why it is illegal. Let them sell away. Just don't come crawling back begging when you need it.
