I'm just wondering if it is possible for us all to promote our club locally to try and develop a fan base. It seems to me that if we all pitched in together as a club, we could further develop motorcycle roadracing enthusiasm to non-racers. This in turn would hopefully up our contigency and purse events would it not? There are alot of people out there that have never heard of WERA. If more people knew about our club, do you think they would come?

Europeans love motorcycle roadracing. I would love to see the same kind of enthusiasts here in the states.

    Any ideas?

I agree if everyone would do a little bit to promote our sport it would go a long way. What I recommend is talking to your local sports reporter, asking him/her how to get him your/clubs results. Also, don't stop there everyone who is going to a track should try and track down the sports reporter from the town your racing in! Face it, not many people are gonna support you where your from, b/c your not doing anything for them or their economy. If a reporter was to recieve say 100 phone calls about an upcoming race next month he may just go out and see what the heck is going on that he is getting these calls about, and wham! he's hooked and now trying to help us promote!!! Also, invite reporters and others to the track, but don't just invite tell them you'll leave them at ticket @ the gate then they can't say admission is to high or anything else...take the attendance barrier away. A group of racers could take turns buying the tickets for them to offset costs or just split them among a group. Just my 2-cents [IMG]
