We stayed for 16 days on the Big Island. Went just about everywhere on that island. Main places, Hilo and Kona.
I bought a new D200 a few weeks ago - here's some stuff I shot on Day 1 with my new baby! Nikon D200 ISO: 100 Exposure: 1/200 sec Aperture: f/1.8 Focal Length: 85mm I had the opportunity to photograph some birds that were rescued by the Raptor Conservancy of Virginia. How often can you get a full-frame shot of a bird with an 85mm lens!? Nikon D200 ISO: 320 Exposure: 1/160 sec Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 180mm (macro)
No, his daughter would be about 14 - 15 years old. Then we'll see how he feels about the boys starting to look at her.
A squirrel would tear those owls apart - they weighed maybe 4 oz. each. (The owl in the second shot is perched on the gauntleted finger an averaged sized man.) The "big" owl in the link below was maybe the size of a cat - only weighed about 2 lbs. I wish I owned an owl - those owls are cared for by the Raptor Conservancy of Virginia. (The aforementioned link.) They also brought out some hawks, a kestrel and a kite, but I didn't really get any shots of them that I was really happy with - the owl stuff turned out the best. http://picasaweb.google.com/SeanJordan23/Raptors By the way - if you're looking for a cheap (free!) easy (it's by Google!) way to host and share photos online, get yourself a Gmail account and download Picasa - they give you a few gigs of space to play around with, and a really nice interface. The software is very nice as well. (It's not Photoshop, but for free it is excellent.)
