Anyone here interested in painting a 15 passenger van for me? Preferably within 200 miles of Charlotte or Chattanooga.
Figure out how much you want to spend first. You can get a $500 fact o bake special that looks ok from 20 feet away or you can spend a couple grand and look at yourself in the mirror finish
I remember in the late 80's wanting to repaint part of my Porsche 930 turbo that wasn't quite perfect. I was quoted $500 per panel. I spent a couple G's and it did look sweet!!! Last year I got accident damage fixed on my Honda Civic. I spent around $1500 for new bumper covers, hood, 2 front fenders and other miscellaneous stuff. A year later it looks semi okay, but the new fender liners I bought from Honda, to replace the ones he re-used, don't match up to the crappy Chinese fenders, and front bumper cover he put on.
Standard OEM color, no body work required, just replacing the badly faded and peeling clear coat. I got an estimate of 1200 today without having the van to be inspected; I don't have it yet. 10 feet would be OK.
Years ago I had a van that looked like shit from 10 feet away so the answer was obvious: make a *stencil of a rat and spray that on the van. Still looked like shit but now it looked like mean shit. *stole the idea from Black Flag's van.
You say no bodywork but any decent painter is gonna find imperfections from either Rick chips or sings you didn't see. I'd budget about $1500 and smile when it's done and looking good.
Parrish is the man. (Ghetto customs on here) By the way Kurt did I see correctly that you will be coming up here next weekend?
Hey RB, I can't help but notice your phone must autocorrect to Rick's name. Obviously a popular choice for you. NTTAWWT.
