I have a 700 Mb video file with an extension ".mvb". I don't know the camera type that made the file, I just have the file. I've been unable to open it MediaPlayer, Realplayer, etc. Net chatter says says it should open with RealPlayer, but it does not. Can anyone tell me what software is needed to open this file? I tried to convert the file and that didn't work either. thanks
I just tried that on your suggestion. It says it does not support this audio or video type. I have version 1.1.4.
Wow. I've never run into anything that a current version of VLC can't play. I've got 1.1.11, so you might just need to upgrade. Oh, and Russian porn is the same as US porn.
Try downloading this codec pack: http://www.cccp-project.net/ It's free and my windows media player plays everything I've thrown at it since.
Unfortunately its work-related surveillance video is all. I'll try that Codec pack download...but if any of you are offering to try and open it, PM me an address and I'll send you a copy of the DVD.
I took the file to some higher order techies here in Columbus. They've both concluded the file is corrupt/encrypted. We were able to open it with the latest version of VLC, but nothing plays. Thanks for all the tips.
