They have one plant here in London that builds these. Was about 2 miles from our shop, so used to see them flying all the time. You could identify them without seeing them because they just sounded different.
I flew the DA-60 Katana, and my brother flew the twin star quite a bit. Neat little airplane...I never set foot in the twin so I have nothing to add....LOL
I watched it a few times. I did see what looks like a chute coming off right away. I didn't see where it looked like he'd ejected. It landed not far away. I didn't see anyone rushing over to see if he was alive, needed CPR?, etc. If you're going to plan this, wouldn't you also plan some back up exit/safety strategies?
