Crap, we're going to Cali this weekend, need to remember some straws from the house along with taking a shopping bag into the truck stop...
Are paper straws even usable? I already carry road spoons so not a huge deal to add road straws to the mix, pretty sure we have some silly straws at the house
Don’t even worry about it. Everyone has straws. It’s not a thing. This is just some bullshit the internet blew way out of proportion. Long Beach on the other hand charges us .10 cents a plastic bag.
They’ve been doing it for almost a decade here. I don’t remember it being like that almost anywhere else but I’m not opposed to it. It’s just annoying some days which is probably good so i can try and remember the reusable bags. Straws though. I haven’t seen the fall out anywhere from that yet.
When I was in Maine, I stopped at a convenience store and picked up some road snacks. I paid for everything and then asked the lady for a bag. She told me it would cost 10 cents. I looked at her like she had a third eye growing out of her head. She smiled and said "you must be from out of town". Some state law or something. Never heard of being charged for a bag outside of an Aldi.
