Just won their first game. Joey said he did ok, was 0-2 shooting. Mom said he had a bunch of rebounds and assists, though.
Worst thing for him is the refs probably have no idea how to call it when he gets to throwing people around inside. Keep it up though Joey!
Actually the worst is this is the first time he's playing organized basketball. Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.
Nice thing about basketball is there is always a court around to practice on. Whether it be pickup games or just working on your own. All he needs is a drop step and a jump hook and he's unstoppable.
I keep looking at his size and thinking about him playing long pole D in lacrosse. Tape up this ankles, watch for knee pain and tell him to have fun.
Great to see him staying active with sports. He will be even more prepared when football starts and same with basketball next year. Gotta start sometime and his god given gifts will help him through the hard learning stages. Good for him. Go Joey!!!!!
Playing another sport will help him with football. It will get him in better shape, give him teams skills, and build his confidence. I was just browsing through the TV guide, and the movie Blindside was starting! Go getem Joey
He needs to learn to shoot 3s in this new boring NBA. Tell him to just start shooting from half-court. Go Joey!
