HELP! My Stinky & Smokey FZR600!!! Help me... Hey Guys! I'm new here so feel free to beat up on me as my intiation I've got this 92 FZR 600 that I'm running on the track and it is smoking a LOT. Some of you who had the (dis)pleasure of riding behind me at Pocono this past weekend must have thought you were coming up on a two-stroke machine... I bought the bike used form a guy that got out of racing. Unfortunately I don't know as much about it as I should other than that it has Wiseco pistons in the motor. It's really hard to start, most likely because it fouls easily... It pops a lot... It blows blue oily smoke under power and when downshifting... There's a wet, oily residue on the tip of the exhaust pipe... It drank about 3/4 quart of oil during the course of the day... Can anybody tell me what sort of problems I'm looking at here and what sort of cash outlay I'm looking at to "freshen up" the motor ??? So far, suggestions point to either the rings or the valves - maybe both. HELP! Thanks, Eric This is me this past weekend: http://pub114.ezboard.com/fyamahar6messagenetmemberspictures.showMessage?topicID=687.topic
valves and valve guide seals sounds like. its a common problem. get it checked and pull the head to fix it. its not that hard of a job really.
