Hey fellow Firefox users. Just upgraded to the latest version 17.0 & had some weird stuff go on. Some changes in how cookies are saved in the latest version which seems strange. In the "Tools" tab, "Options" sub-tab you used to have options in the "Privacy" menu to accept or selectively not select various types of cookies. Blocking all, blocking some, being asked every time outside or 3rd party cookies were being set was one reason I really liked this program. All of that is gone now. WTF? When I installed this latest version it also changed my default home page to http://www.searchnu.com/406 Tried to reset that homepage & it was a huge hassle as Firefox kept locking me out of entering a new URL into that homepage address area. Did I download an altered version of this program from a website that looked like the Mozilla website?
Sounds like it. If you ever need an upgrade, in (real) FF just click Help -> About Firefox and you can check the version. It can also trigger an update if one is available. The current real (release channel) version is 17.0.1 -jim
Srsly. I have not had one problem with Chrome until some tried (and failed) to hack my gmail account. I had the two together. I went to stricter sign in security with Chrome and haven't had one issue and all my secured logins are shared across 3 computers, an iPhone and an ipad.
Well, if you'd installed a hacked version of Chrome you'd be f*cked too. FF works great. So does Chrome. I use both. -jim
It's not that. As we've obviously seen over the years, paying for software from a large corporation is an absolute guarantee of quality and value. -jim
Did I say it is a guarantee of quality and value? No. But bitching about something you didn't pay for is like saying the boobs on your girlfriend aren't the right size when she's putting out for free.
Ya think?. Bing sucks balls. But then again, it's "free". The Windows 8 preview edition? Ball-suck, but "free". Shall I continue? -jim
