So Moto2 is going to start including spec electronics package now. The old rules didn't allow any kind of electronic riders aids right?
I think so, and I dont know if I like it or not. I think what makes Moto2 so great it is the lack of electronics. "The spec Magneti Marelli electronics package is significantly more sophisticated than Superstock package used with the Honda CBR600RR engines currently being used."
https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/...e=emailCampaign&dm_i=4DIP,AMZO,37977Z,1620I,1 Interesting: The last time Yamaha went more than 18 races without victory was way back in the days of 500cc two-strokes, between the 1996 Australian GP, won by Loris Capirossi on a Marlboro Team Rainey YZR500 and the 1998 British GP, won by Simon Crafar on a Red Bull WCM YZR500.
Yeah, but it was beautiful watching them working so hard and knowing that it's pure talent and a mechanically well set up bike. I think that with the introduction of electronics, the teams with the most resources (factory teams with a lot of computer guys) will become untouchable.
Having an electronics package in Moto2 will better prepare them for the step up to MotoGP. I think the knock-on effect here is that it will make the MotoGP class even more competitive, and the old guard will face even more pressure from the up and comers.
Sam can’t even stay on a moto2 bike! Why would Yamaha let him on a factory MotoGP bike? Bollocks to that shit!
I'm interested to see what is announced for the (still rumored) open spots for when Marc Vds drops out at the end of the year. Petronas Yamaha taking Aspar's spot, who gets the open spots and how soon? Probably gawd damn rossi team.
