Richard has said that they'll make the Attack R1 swingarm for anyone because the rules mandate that however it'll be $12k because of the amount of time it takes to make one. Basically they have to allow it to be sold to other teams but they do not have to sell it to anyone not racing in the series. They also modify the swingarm pivot on the frame to be adjustable and are using unobtanium Ohlins shock that is $10k+. As a club racer you shouldn't even be trying to spend your money on a build of their level. Most of the other teams are using Suter swingarms (westby, scheibe) but Yosh would use Yosh swingarms and I'm not sure what M4 is using because I doubt they'll put a part on the bike they'd have to pay for
I assume you have seen the V4S and V4Rs running around in track days and yellow plate club levels, so I could easily see a club racer buying one of those fancy swing arms or a previously owned MA bike with one on it. But should they? Well if it isn't cutting into their track time or track school budget, why not?
Probably getting into insignificant details here but don't most big factory teams like Attack often take the most trick unobtanium bits off before selling?
Short answer is it depends. If they can use it on the next build then yes a lot of times. It's rarely to keep anything out of the hands of competitors or the like, more about usefulness.
I still think that was more likely a pissy wrench upset at having to build another set than anything else. The rider getting them would never have been able to use them properly anyway so it wasn't a performance advatage.
The only Live+ issue I had was that Robby Floyd was still in the booth with Roger. Why can't they just keep him in the pits where he actually adds value to the broadcast. Roger is good and he is even better when he works with Michael.
C’mon Ken - without Floyd I would have never known that Superbike 1000 motors last longer because they’re bigger, get constantly reminded of RLH’s mustache resembling a pornstars, and that Herrin drinks Coors… NOTE - I will say that I am basically happy with MA live for the most part and for $50 it’s a value and I get to watch road racing.
