Five times more national journalists identify themselves as liberal (34 percent) than conservative (7 percent), finds a new Pew Research survey. The survey was conducted in March and April of this year covering national and local reporters, editors, and news executives.

The survey found that journalists as a group are much more liberal than the general population. A whopping 55% believe media outlets should be "even more critical" against Bush. As a stark comparison, in 1995 fully 48% of them felt the media should have done more to showcase Clinton's achievements.
