Don't ask me why, but I was watching Maury Povitch (sp?) today and he was doing a show on Sexy, Shocking, Dangerous Moments Caught on Tape. It was really nothing more than a plug for the various Fox life-porn shows. He started talking about 130 mph superbikes (!) and the dangerous, blind turn two at Loudon. Then he played the tape from the loudon crash. It's shocking enough without being played over and over again on daytime TV. Not exactly the kind of publicity we're looking for. Jim AOD
The negative clips really burn my butt. But its okay for television programers to show all these crappy Harley shows on Discovery channel with guys gulping beer (Peter Fonda as the head honcho) while out on the ride. Blasting down the highways without a helmet & no substantial riding gear. Please no more shows about Sturgis, I'm sick of seeing it. The general population must think all bike riders are drunks we are for the most part its just the smart ones (that are still alive) do it after the ride is over Rant, Rant, Rant.....I'm finished.
that's like that neanderthal football player Kyle Turley who the announcers said was unsportsmanlike throwing an opponents helmet across the field "in a fit of passion" last week...then they used the highlight film for the opening of the Monday nite game this week...it's that basic wrestling mentality, it's so scripted, bad guy does a bad thing, bad guy gets the spotlight, bad guy gets big check...yeah, bad guy, right he's doing exactly what they want him to do...what a meat-puppet...where's Gepetto?
I saw it. I was in the waiting room while Lee was in surgery today. Thankfully, nobody in the waiting room knew what Lee does for a living.
Lee got surgery for compartment syndrome on the other arm - being surgery it's never fun but this should have been pretty easy since he's been through it once (his Doc wanted to do one at a time).
i thought he might be getting all those cherry pits removed from his colon, sometimes if you get too many in there they get stuck.........
M'kay...Thanks for the concern Jim, Scarbs and Mongo. Lee is fine. Just a little maintenance today. I on the other hand could use a therapy session.
Compartment Syndrome? How does that work with no impact? Jep had that when he crashed in '99 but it almost cost him his leg--is there another form of it not as serious? Laurie, I feel for ya. Have a drink....or two.
It's the same thing but a matter of degree. Lee's causes problem with forearm pump when the blood goes to the working muscle and swells the muscle to where it actually cuts off blood flow and pinches the nerves. Jep's did the same thing but the muscle swelling was so much greater because of the injury that it was much worse.
Jep ENTIRE left leg is a scar. I don't know if he developed scar tissue inside his leg, I'm sure he did but it doesn't seem to bother him. It's a little stiff sometimes but loosens up after a while. Where did they cut on Lee's arm? What causes that?
They cut the top of the forearm and the underside of the forearm in non-technical terms. He has matching scars to his right arm now. Lee's compartment syndrome was caused by hanging on too tight. No. Seriously, the muscle outgrew the fascia. Dr. Gramig said it was pretty impressive. I'm just glad it's over. And contrary to everyone's belief not all chics dig scars.
