Loud clatter from engine

Thanks for the advice guys, plates are sealed and the noise is gone. Unfortunately I have a bigger problem now, the threads on the countershaft are also gone. I never thought to check behind the front sprocket cover before buying the bike, had I done so the nut would have fallen off and I would have realized the motor needed to be taken apart to fix it. Fuck me.
