Anyone aware of a Race-Ready CB350 for sale, preferably set up for GP350? I have a buddy interested in racing with us, not interested in putting a bike together..
id ask about 1k shouldered rims good tires race brakes pipes seat rear sets belly pan stock shocks ignition forks chain conversion motor build specs (cam pistons clutch etc...) id think about 1k would be a fair price with average build. not much more than that though.
dont get me wrong, I'm a fan, but it's still one of the most mass produced over hyped bikes ever. what people are generally asking, aand getting for them is criminal. that being said, I have close to 10k in receipts for my old build someplace. and I did most of the fabrication and all of the assembly work myself! I doubt I could get more than 1500 bucks for it. its still just a dressed up stocket. and you can buy a, lot of bike for that. maybe even something with disk brakes. haha.
Criminal is a good description Joe. I mean, once you start adding up the parts it aint cheap!....I know you know the drill, you built a nice looking bike from what I've seen. It does depend on the bike....I guess if you just took an old streetbike and did nothing but tires and strip it down, put a seat on it....1k would be in the ballpark.....but something tells me yammiehogg did alittle better than that. ...and then, to top it off....he builds the CB, and I don't think he raced it (?)....sells it...and starts looking for a 2 smoke!!! Sacrilege I say! It does look like a pretty good build. Yo Jeremy....is your buddy as banzai as you? HA! Nice looking bike. I hope Hogg and your buddy are happy.
I made him a good deal because he will race it. I still have my SR500 that I have ran in Vintage Super-bike. There is just something about the sound and the smell of castor oil .
yeah I know, But still that bean oil smell takes me back to my youth when we raced short track in a huge barn . your eyes burned and your ears rang for a while and we loved it.
definitely not trying to say it's not worth it for a race prepped bike. I find as soon as cb350 is part of the description, the prices go through the roof. for a bike.I couldn't stop people from practically giving me just 10 years ago. and other than having the price being artificially inflated by people who are into the fad, it's still the same stupid machine. hell, that's what made them such "great" race bikes in the first place so, if that bike is worth 2k, that's gotta make mine worth at least 4 eh? ;-)
