Anyone have a quickshifter for a carb'd bike? Prefer used, but if you know of a cheap new one, pass the info along.

    Thanks,

    Phil

I have nothing used but Dale Walker used to make a killshift kit for carb'd bikes, worked well.

It's definitely not cheap, but you can still find new DynoJet QS systems that kill spark from the ICM - the last place I found the components still for sale, was Graves Motorsport, but if you identified the part number, you could expand your search.

Oh, did I mention, they are SO not cheap! :(

Anyway, good luck in your search!

For certain values of "shortly" ...

The inline shift sensor remains stuck in development hell, but the actual controller tripped by a thumb-button is still very much available; US$75 + 15 for shipping. I can provide a suitable button plus wiring for an additional $25. When the inline sensor is ready (assuming the zombie apocalypse hasn't happened first!), those who purchased a push-button from me will receive a $25 discount.

An rpm switch is part of the quick shift PCB design; an adder applies to install the pieces, and can be configured as a limiter or launch controller. I can provide a button for launch control, or a rpm lockout to use the start button to 1) start the bike, and 2) activate the launch controller over 1200rpm. PM or email for details; I don't want to turn this thread into nothing but advertising.

This is plug'n'play for the FZR and YZF crowd; I haven't been able to source the later CBR plugs, and haven't looked for the Kawi and Suzuki plugs. Some minor wiring surgery will be required for those marques.

    YZF 750 applicable?

Yes! Different plugs, obviously, but the principle is the same.

Sorry, realised that might be open to interpretation and confusion - a unit ordered for a YZF750 will ship with connectors to plug into a YZF750; a unit ordered for an FZR600 will ship with connectors for an FZR600, etc.

    Don,

Do you have connectors that would plug into a Dynojet brand sensor?

I use an HM quickshifter on my SV. It wasn't cheap, but works really well.

That's not a question with an easy answer. Some of the units I'm seeing have this funky 10-way connector that plugs into a PCM-III; I have no idea where to get that connector. I've seen the standard push and pull sensors with stripped wire ends, that can be fitted with any connector. There's a fellow on eBay that's selling them with locally-sourced connectors and a pigtail to wire up to your PCM. They look like Delphi / Metri-Packs, but I'd have to confirm the particular part number with my connector connection.

The easiest solution might be for you to order the stripped-ends version of the sensor, and I'll provide a suitable connector on my wiring along with a mating plug for you to install.

Lots of nibbles, but no bites. Have I out-priced myself, or is everyone waiting for me to sort out the inline shift sensors? ;)

Note to the mods: as I said, I'm not looking to take over this thread as "Don's Quickshifter Advertising", but I am completely committed (once I get myself sorted out) to being a contingency sponsor, and - hopefully by next season - a class sponsor. I'm hoping the folks running this site can hold their collective nose at some (unpaid) crass commercialism while I get myself up to speed ...
