I'm sure Trump isn't as wealthy as he claims to be, at least not in a taxable fashion, and I'm sure he's paid virtually zero taxes because he spends a lot of money on accountants to make sure of it. Warren Buffet claims he pays less in taxes than his secretary due to our screwed up tax laws. If anything good were to come out of all of this, I'd hope it would be a major restructuring of our tax code to simplify the entire system and avoid these kinds of things. But then most everyone in Congress would have to actually pay taxes too....

Nothing burger. If you can take a loss on paper and have positive cash flow you’re doing your job right. I don’t know how much Trump is actually worth, but he’s obviously made a lot of money at some point if we follow the alternate definition of income. Income = Consumption + (net change in assets)

 

This is hilarious. This was the rage for the day when Trump was a candidate, that awkward dude Rachel Maddow did a Geraldo vault opening style tax filing unveiling already. Plus Trump talked about all this years ago on the Apprentice. I heard some shit about Uber drivers going on strike because the stock is going public. Something about demanding a living wage or some shit. The whole point of working for Uber was to supplement your income, not live completely off of it. Fuck, people are are stupid.

Uber actually tried raising rates to see if it could raise compensation. It just increased the supply of drivers and drove it back down to the equilibrium price. The only way to raise effective compensation would be to constrain the number of drivers, which would also limit service levels.
